Om Trondheim Voices
Trondheim Voices er Norges mest spennende vokalensemble, og har gjennom de siste årene markert seg meget sterkt internasjonalt. I samarbeid med nyskapende komponister, med bruk av ny teknologi, og gjennom en rekke tverrkunstneriske prosjekter, har ensemblet vært banebrytende for utviklingen av kollektiv vokal-improvisasjon, og fører stadig sjangeren til nye steder.
Lyd-designer Asle Karstad har spesialutviklet effektkontrolleren Maccatrol for Trondheim Voices, et system som gir sangerne mulighet for å styre individuelle effekter på stemmen trådløst, i surround. Med Maccatrol kan sangerne skape store ambiente lydlandskaper, dype droner, metallisk støy og overjordisk vakre klangverdener – alt sammen i realtime og med stemmene som utgangspunkt.
Trondheim Voices er en del av Midtnorsk Jazzsenter og får tilskudd fra Kulturdirektoratet, Trondheim Kommune og Trøndelag Fylkeskommune.
Om Planetariet
Planetariet i Trondheim er et helt unikt sted. Du har kanskje sniktittet inn i bakgården til Vitensenteret og sett en massiv kule, som kanskje mest av alt ligner på en høyteknologisk planet fra en science fiction-verden? Det er dét som er Planetariet. Med en skjerm som fyller hele synsfeltet og en bildekvalitet som overgår det meste blir opplevelsen din ganske overveldende. Lydsystemet i Vitensenterets planetarium leverer lyd i 36 høyttalere fordelt på 3 nivåer, noe som gir en helt unik romfølelse inne i domen. Systemet er første av sitt slag i et norsk planetarium og det eksisterer kun seks lignende installasjoner i resten av verden.

About Trondheim Voices
Trondheim Voices is a groundbreaking Norwegian ensemble of improvising vocalists, constantly challenging and changing the framework for how a vocal ensemble can produce sound art. In collaboration with cutting edge composers, using new technology, and through a number of interdisciplinary projects, the ensemble has been pioneering the development of collective vocal improvisation, and is constantly taking the genre to new places.
Sound designer Asle Karstad has specially developed the Maccatrol effects controller for Trondheim Voices, a system that gives singers the opportunity to control individual effects on the voice wirelessly, in surround. With Maccatrol, singers can create large ambient soundscapes, deep drones, metallic noise and otherworldly beautiful sound worlds – all in real time and with the voices as the starting point.
Trondheim Voices is a part of Mid-Norway Center of Jazz, and is funded by the Arts and Culture Norway, Trondheim Municipality and Trondheim County Municipality.
About the Planetarium
The Planetarium in Trondheim is a truly unique place. Have you ever peeked into the backyard of the Science Center and seen a massive sphere that perhaps most resembles a high-tech planet from a science fiction world? That's what the Planetarium is. With a screen that fills the entire field of view and an image quality that surpasses most, your experience will be quite overwhelming. The sound system in the Science Center's planetarium delivers sound through 36 speakers distributed over 3 levels, which gives a completely unique feeling of space inside the dome. The system is the first of its kind in a Norwegian planetarium and there are only six similar installations in the rest of the world.
